Itinerary
Arrive at Dibrugarh Airport, and we'll warmly greet you before heading to Tezu. This charming town, set against the backdrop of verdant hills and the flowing Lohit River, promises an enchanting stay surrounded by lush green forests.
Enjoy an overnight stay in this peaceful haven, where nature's beauty awaits. Explore the town's charm and immerse yourself in its scenic wonders.
Embark on a fascinating journey to Walong at the crack of dawn, around 6 AM. Walong, the easternmost town where the first sun rays fall in India, is the home of the Mishmi tribe. Driving along the picturesque Lohit River, the stunning valley view will leave you awestruck. By late afternoon, you'll reach Walong, stopping en route at the Walong War Memorial to commemorate soldiers from the 1962 Indo-China War. Upon arrival, proceed to Dong, 8 km away, and check into a cozy homestay or resort. We'll sleep early today in preparation for a midnight trek to witness the first sunrise in India.
Note: Eastern Arunachal Pradesh, known for its beautiful landscapes, diverse cultures, and unique wildlife, is a remote region with limited infrastructure, including basic accommodation options. As we venture into this remote area, it's essential to be mindful of the rustic experience that awaits us.
Embarking on our Dong trek, we kick off the adventure at 2 am, covering 8 km from our cozy homestay to the hill's summit. As dawn breaks, we eagerly await the sunrise in the valley, soaking in the breathtaking views of towering hills. After this magical moment, we head back to our homestay for a well-deserved rest.
Now refreshed, we set out to explore the enchanting beauty of Walong and its surroundings. Our next destination is Kaho, the first village of India near the Indo-China border. Along the journey, we pause at Kibithu, marveling at the spectacular landscape. A visit to Kaho gompa offers panoramic views of the Lohit River and the Chinese territory.
In the afternoon, we return to our Walong homestay, ready for a unique experience. We indulge in relaxation at nearby hot springs, rejuvenating our skin. The Dong trek and Walong excursion, unfolding in the scenic Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, promise thrilling moments for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. We eagerly anticipate what tomorrow holds as we savor the unforgettable experiences of our first day on this incredible journey.
After a tasty breakfast, we hit the road to Namsai. The journey is a treat for the eyes, with green landscapes and charming villages along the way. Our first stop is Parshuram Kund, a sacred spot where Lord Parshuram sought penance. It's a spiritual pause on our adventure, adding a special touch to the day.
As we continue our trip, the beauty of the countryside and the peaceful vibes of Parshuram Kund make for a great start to our Namsai exploration. Excitement fills the air as we look forward to more discoveries on this easy-going journey.
Early in the morning, we head on a scenic journey to Dibrugarh airport, approximately 125 km away (3 hours).
Upon arrival, check into the hotel and later depart for the airport according to your flight timing.
